Simmonds flies to second gold

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

Swimming superstar Ellie Simmonds has stormed to a second gold swimming medal, and has a third in her sights.

Simmonds has swept the board after winning the 400m freestyle on Saturday and 200m individual medley on Monday, after welcoming the audience into "her house".

The Prime Minister and former PM Gordon Brown witnessed the second gold in world record time, and it was David Cameron who presented the 17-year-old with her medal.

On Tuesday, she will compete in the 50m freestyle along with fellow Briton Natalie Jones, who won bronze on Monday.

ParalympicsGB start the day with an impressive 63 medals, including 19 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze - ahead of schedule for the 103 medal target.
