Jamaica celebrates Usain Bolt's gold medal and independence

Usain Bolt has been presented with his gold medal on the day that Jamaica celebrates 50 years of independence.

Hundreds visited Jamaica House, home to the official headquarters of the Jamaica Olympic association, to watch Bolt being given his medal.

An audience of 20 million people watched Usain Bolt win gold in the men’s 100m final, according to BBC figures.

Bolt ran the men’s 100m final in a time of 9.63 seconds winning him an Olympic Record and his fourth gold of the last two Games.

Jamaican Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller described her country's success as "just marvellous".
