Fans' excitement ahead of men's 100m final

Report by Sophie Foster

Spectators have been pouring into the Olympic Park ahead of the men's 100m final, which will decide who is the fastest man on Earth.

The final will see Usain Bolt fight off rivals to defend his Beijing title, with fans divided over his chances.

"I think Bolt definitely, he's looking confident and relaxed," said Katie Stevens from Cambridge.

Other spectators were unsure as to whether the Jamaican could retain his title, since 2004 he has lost his world title, having been beaten by compatriot Yohan Blake in both the 100m and 200m at the Olympic trials in June.

"It's going to be difficult," said Els and Bram Goolaerts from Belgium. "I think it's probably going to be Blake. He did beat him before. But on the other hand I also think Bolt because sometimes you get people who just step up - it will be very exciting."
