Moon shines through Olympic rings

Report by Mark Morris

In what might be a shining example of how successful the Olympics have been so far, the Moon shone through the London 2012 rings at Tower Bridge on Friday night.

The orange-coloured Moon created an atmospheric night which fans watching the beach volleyball at Horse Guards Parade would have been able to see clearly.

Crowds leaving the Olympic Park at the end of the first night of the athletics would also have been able to admire the Moon.
