Pete Waterfield's family arrive in Stratford

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

Diver Pete Waterfield is a superstar in his own right, and competing alongside Tom Daley in the 10m platform synchro on Monday afternoon, the majority of the 17,000 spectators are bound to be cheering him on.

However, the Olympic star will be enjoying closer support from his family, who have arrived in Stratford for the event.

Pete's father and two brothers had high hopes for him outside the Aquatic centre, telling reporters that they expect a medal.

Speaking to Pete before the event, they said he was pumped up, raring to go, and spurred on by the enormous home crowd support he has been receiving.
