UK Olympics chief's pride after GB medal win

Report by Lauren Hood

Colin Moynihan, the chairman of the British Olympic Association, has spoken of his pride after Team GB claims it's first medal of the London 2012 Games.

It came through an impressive performance by cyclist Lizzie Armitstead, who won silver in the road race.

Moynihan described Armistead as extraordinary and said it was a really good start for Team GB.

Swimmer Rebecca Adlington clinched Britain's second medal, winning bronze in the 400m freestyle.
