The mystery woman dressed in red and blue who angered Indian officials after gatecrashing the country's Opening Ceremony parade on Friday was a member of the cast.

"She was a member of the cast who got slightly over-excited, we had suspected she was probably a member of the cast but she clearly started in that venue and we will be speaking to the Indian delegation about that," explained London 2012 chairman Sebastian Coe.

She stood out in stark contrast to the traditional bright yellow Rajastani turbans and saris worn by the Indian contingent, with India's acting chef-de-mission Muralidharan Raja saying: "She had no business being there. It was a clear case of intrusion."

India's flag bearer Sushil Kumar held the national flag as he led the team at the Olympic Stadium.
