David Beckham has attempted to get on with his day-to-day life, after he was told that he would not be playing for Great Britain at the 2012 Olympics.
He was with his club side LA Galaxy, and will be playing in Major League Soccer this summer, rather than London.
Manager Stuart Pearce selected Ryan Giggs, Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards as his three over-age players instead.
Teammate Landon Donovan was pleased Beckham would be able to help the Galaxy, but admitted it would be tough for the 37-year-old.
"As a team it's good for us that he's here but more importantly than that, we know the guy as a person, a friend and as a teammate for a long time," Donovan said.
"We know it's devastating for him so I don't think we necessarily agree with the decision but sometimes life does that to you.
"He's a professional and I'm sure it'll be difficult for him but he knows life moves on."
It is thought Beckham will have a ceremonial role to play at the Games, but it is not the appearance he would have wanted.
