Johnny Rotten launches bizarre sexist rant on Australian TV

Report & Video by Matt Blake

During an interview with Australian show The Project, Johnny Rotten told a female anchor to "shut up" before launching into an extraordinary sexist tirade.

The former Sex Pistols band member and 70s punk icon - real name John Lydon - was doing a pre-recorded interview backstage in Brisbane with Network Ten's, The Project, when the interview turned into an agressive rant with female host Carrie Bickmore.

When she interrupted him to ask for his thoughts on the death of Margaret Thatcher, he said: "Hey missus, shut up. Whoever you are, shut up, shut up. Now listen, when a man is talking, do not interrupt."

It continued for some minutes before the chat show hosts abruptly ended the interview.
