Kate Hudson was at the Elle Style Awards on Monday to present Stella McCartney with the best international designer prize.

The Hollywood actress also found time to tell us about her plans for Valentine's Day, saying: "I have no idea what I'm doing yet. I don't know. I'm going to be surprised I guess."

Asked about her idea of a perfect date, Kate said: "It would probably be somewhere near a beach and it would probably entail some sort of rum drink and not too many clothes."

Other stars at the event at London's Savoy hotel included Dermot O'Leary, Elizabeth Olsen and Bradley Cooper.

The audience were treated to a performance from Les Mis star Samantha Barks who also picked up a prize for her role as Eponine in the film.
