Lindsay Lohan made a surprise appearance at an AIDS benefit gala on Wednesday night in New York.
The star of the movie "Mean Girls," who has been in and out of rehab and jail since 2007 was wearing a Roberto Cavalli dress for the stars studded black-tie event.
She will stand trial on March 18 on charges she lied to California police about a June car crash and violated probation, raising the possibility she could be sent back to jail.
The annual gala has become one of New York's most successful AIDS benefits since its began in 1998, and to date it has raised nearly $13 million for AIDS research, prevention and education.
Cee Lo Green and Sarah Jessica Parker also attended the amfAR AIDS benefit gala which also kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.
