Lawson and X Factor finalists Union J have been revealing their tips on how a girl can impress them, as they attended the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2012.

"Smile and have a twinkle in the eye," was what Union J said it took to get their attention.

"Be yourself, don't worry about being someone you're not. Just come out, be honest and be who you are, that's all everyone looks for in a woman," band member Jaymi added.

Lawson were more easily pleased though, with frontman Andy Brown saying: "Just buy me a drink."

Ryan Fletcher took it a step further, adding: "Buy me a drink that makes me laugh, whilst at the same time being assertive, you've got me."
