Psy has danced his way into the United Nations to meet secretary-general Ban Ki-moon.

The South Korean rapper taught his compatriot the famous Gangnam Style - or Ban-nam Style - dance before the pair sat down to discuss how Psy's global reach could help the UN.

"I was thinking about you when you were coming - you know we have tough negotiations in the United Nations. In such a case I was also thinking of playing Gangnam Style so that everybody would stop and dance, maybe you can bring UN style," joked Ban.

Psy's song, Gangnam Style, which mocks the consumerism of a rich Seoul suburb, went viral last month.

It has been viewed more than 560 million times on YouTube since it was released in mid-July.
