The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers has been named Q Idol at the Q Awards 2012.

The singer said picking up the award was "better than not winning it I guess".

He was joined at Monday's ceremony by the rest of his band and other stars including Muse, Keane and Emeli Sande.

Other winners at the daytime event included Blur who won Best Live Act and Pulp who picked up the inspiration award.

While Brandon was happy to talk about picking up his Idol award, he was less keen to comment on the US presidential election.
