Glee's Damian McGinty, who plays Rory Flanagan in season three, has said starring on the show was "like a baptism of fire".

The Irish actor won his place on the series through reality TV show The Glee Project, and he is the first cast member to hail from Ireland.

Speaking about his first role on Glee, McGinty said: "It was a real baptism of fire because it was all the hardest things you can do in Glee in my very first scene, so it was a little scary."

McGinty also revealed that he would not mind dating Justin Bieber's girlfriend: "My one huge wish to come true would be dating Selena Gomez."

Glee Season 3 is out now on Blu-ray and DVD.
