Liam Gallagher presents Bradley Wiggins with a GQ Award

Report by Simon Parker

Olympic gold medal winner and Tour de France champion Bradley Wiggins has received a Lifetime Achievement prize at the GQ Men of the Year Awards.

The cyclist was presented the award by former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, capping off a memorable year for the 32-year-old, who is a fan of the band.

"To be in this company with so many faces, including Ashley Cole right down there in front of me, it means a lot," said Wiggins.

"It means a lot to be presented with this award from Liam. I grew up with Oasis."

Other winners on the night included Sir Tom Jones who scooped the Legend prize, Tinie Tempah who won the gong for Solo Artist of the Year and Gary Barlow for the Outstanding Achievement Award.
