Katherine Jenkins has talked about why she decided to speak out about those David Beckham "affair" allegations.

"I wish I had never had to say anything about it, but I did. It was rumour that was hurtful and I felt I had to stand up for myself and put it straight.

"I was getting a lot of abuse on Twitter and I didn't want people to think I was that person," she said.

Katherine was forced to deny she had an affair with David Beckham on Twitter after false rumours circulated on the social networking site.

The singer said she had met the footballer only twice in her life.
