Michael Fassbender has awarded David Victori top prize at YouTube's Your Film Festival.
The Irish/German actor announced the winner in Venice, sitting on a board which whittled down ten finalists to just one lucky winner, Victori's film The Guilt.
Michael said the film hooked him from the start: "There's lot's of things; first of all you don't have much time to grab an audience and engage them with a short film. I was engaged from the top of the film.
"Knowing where to put a camera seems like a pretty obvious thing but not a lot of people - I mean not every director - does know where to put a camera. I think David definitely does. I liked the movement of the camera. I liked the cuts. I liked the acting."
He added: "There was a certain element, sort of special effects, which I thought were done convincingly, very convincingly. Just the whole package was very mature and confident as a piece."
David's prize is an astonishing half a million dollars for his next project, which will feature Fassbender and Ridley Scott as executive producers.
