Essex's most famous granny, Nanny Pat, has admitted she is not bothered by fame but finds it funny that two years ago she "was a nobody" and now she cannot leave the house without "bus drivers shouting [her] name".
Nanny Pat revealed she cannot go shopping by herself anymore and has to have her son accompany her in case she is bombarded by fans.
During her book launch at The Mayfair Exchange, the TOWIE star also said she is often overwhelmed when she meets famous people and has recently met Peter Andre and Barbara Windsor.
Nanny Pat said: "My granddaughter was so jealous Peter Andre was holding my hand and kissing me, she said 'aw Nan, I wish that was me!' I just couldn't get away from him!"
Nanny Pat’s autobiography, Penny Sweets And Cobbled Streets: My East End Childhood is out now.
