Shia LaBeouf and castmate Guy Pearce have hit the red carpet in LA for the premiere of Lawless, a prohibition-era gangster film.
Set in Virginia, "Lawless" is based on the true story of the Bondurant Brothers: Notorious bootlegging siblings who made it big amid the contraband alcohol crimewave.
The film was directed by John Hillcoat and written by Nick Cave, and Shia says they went beyond your typical gangster film: "Good guys that are only good are not interesting, bad guys who are only bad are not interesting.
"I think human beings are abstract, and I think John Hillcoat and Nick Cave's script reflected that. People have layers."
The film also stars Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Jessica Chastain, and is out in cinemas on August 29.
