Superstar Beyonce has performed at the UN's General Assembly Hall in New York to mark World Humanitarian Day.

The singer serenaded the audience with her single I Was Here, wearing a stunning, white, floor length dress.

The live performance was recorded and will be made into a video that is due to be released globally on World Humanitarian Day on August 19.

It is to be used to launch a global campaign encouraging people to do something good for those in need.

"We all see the headlines and we think, 'What can I really do to help?'," said Knowles in a statement before the event.
