Colin Farrell: Talks about the remake of Total Recall

Report by Lauren Hood

Irish actor Colin Farrell says his new film Total Recall is original, despite being a remake of the classic 1990 film of the same name, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Farrell plays Douglas Quaid, an ordinary factory worker who decides to liven up his life by being implanted with fake memories, but when things go wrong he finds himself on the run.

It is Farrell's first action role in six years and the 36-year-old said it required a lot of dedication: "I'd go from fight training to parkour training, off to the gym. Then I'd come back to do wire work with the stunt riggers."

He also revealed that after doing so many action scenes he was tempted to sell one of his body parts just to get a few lines: "By the end of the film, I would have sold my arse for a good dialogue scene".
