Anne Hathaway's Catwoman not like a cat all all

Report by Lisa Snell

Anne Hathaway might be playing Catwoman in the new Batman movie, but she is excited for audiences to see her portrayal of the iconic character which is not very cat like at all.

The Dark Knight Rises star said: "A lot of people are like, 'So how did you make yourself more cat-like?'

"I really didn't, it's not really about that. She's never actually referred to as Catwoman, she's referred to as The Cat. It's something that someone else gives to her, so it's not like she's got an inner feline side that I had to tap into or anything."

The actress, 29, follows in the footsteps of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry who have both taken on the comic book character over the last 20 years.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't aware of the history and the level of fan expectation surrounding all aspects of this franchise," Anne added.

"I just trusted Chris. I knew he wasn't going to let me go out there and get egg on my face."

The Dark Knight Rises is the final film in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. It is out now.
