Heidi Klum says she is extra proud of Project Runway, which is now in its tenth season.
The show has been nominated for four Emmy Awards this year and is a huge hit around the world, but, according to Klum, not everyone was convinced it would be a success.
The German supermodel said: "A lot of people you know turned us away and said, 'Why would we want to watch that?' and we were really passionate about it and you know then finally we did find a network that did put us on the air."
It might be glamorous now, but host Klum has not forgotten the show's humble beginnings.
"You know we started filming and I didn't have a stylist in the beginning," she said, "I was like, 'How am I going to look really stylish? This is a show about fashion'
"You know I started calling friends and 'Can I borrow this and can I borrow that?'
"You know, a lot of designer friends and Michael (Kors) helped me out."
The Project Runway team will find out whether they have been successful at the Emmy Awards when the winners are announced on September 23.
