Tom Cruise has visited his daughter Suri in New York City for the first time since news of his divorce from Katie Holmes.

The recently turned 50-year-old was seen rushing from a hotel to a waiting car holding his 6-year-old daughter with her face buried into his shoulder.

The pair's day out followed Suri and her mother being involved in a car accident in Manhattan the day before.

Katie Holmes reached a divorce settlement with Cruise last week, just ten days after announcing the end of their five-year marriage.

The couple have publicly vowed that they are "committed to working together as parents" to support their daughter.
