Alexandra Burke has been strutting her stuff on the wing of a jumbo jet in Mexico.

The singer was invited to Cancun by Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, who joined her for the daring wing walk.

Sir Richard, whose company has just started operating flights between London and Cancun, got into the spirit of the event by donning a sombrero.

Comedian Leigh Francis brought a little humour to proceedings in character as Keith Lemon.

He ran onto the wing and lifted Sir Richard into air before toppling over and, for a few nail-biting moments, it looked as though both men might crash to the ground.

They lived to tell the tale, however and all three celebrities looked pleased to be escaping Britain's unpredictable summer and enjoying the Mexican sunshine instead.
