Australian fans waited up for a glimpse of Katy Perry as she hit the pink carpet to promote her 3D movie Katy Perry Part Of Me.

The movie cross-cuts between concert footage and biography and was co-produced by Perry.

It also includes interviews with the star's friends, assistants, manager, makeup artist, Christian evangelical parents, and fans.

Her ex-husband Russell Brand is on-screen in several scenes but his presence is reduced by the end mostly to phone and text messages.

"This is kind of a big extension of my record and a great punctuation for this period of time. And also, it's very important for me to give my point of view and perspective to do everything with integrity," said Perry.

The film is out on July 5.
