Channing Tatum once worked as a stripper and has now used his past experiences to inspire his performance in new film Magic Mike.
Despite the film being about the life of male strippers, Tatum has confirmed the story has no autobiographical elements.
"The only thing that is factual is I was 18 years old in Tampa, dropped out of college playing football and was living on my sister's couch," Tatum explained.
The actor also helped produce the comedy that stars Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer.
Magic Mike is due for release on June 29 in the US and July 11 in the UK.
