It seems dating Kayne West is not just good for Kim Kardashian's profile, but it is also helping her mature.

The 31-year-old reality TV star appeared on Oprah Winfrey's show "Oprah's Next Chapter" and told the veteran host that she loves hanging out with older people.

Referring to boyfriend Kanye, who is 35, she said: "I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different. And now I just... I love that I'm with someone that's a couple of years older than me."

But it's not just an older man's company that she enjoys: "A lot of my friends are the people that I love to just sit and talk to and spend my time with are wiser, a little bit older than me.

I love that my friends are even sometimes 20, 30 years older than me. That I can just sit and enjoy in their company and their experiences."

During the 2 hour show, Kim also spoke about her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries: "My life I just -- how Kourtney had this epiphany when she had the baby and she changed into a different person? I feel like I've had an epiphany over the last year for what I've been through and I am that changed person just from my own experiences."

She also defended the part her Mum has played in pushing the Kardashian siblings into the spotlight.

When asked by Oprah what she thought of accussations her mum is 'pimping her children?', Kim K laughed it off calling it "ridiculous" adding: "We have to hire a manager. So regardless, someone is gonna get that. No one will fight harder for you than your own mother. She knows us. She knows all of our moods."

Well Kim is certainly in a good mood at the moment, moving on from her second divorce, enjoying her new relationship and raking in millions through publicity and business deals.

And after hanging out with some older, wiser people it seems she certainly is (in her own words) "totally growing up".
