Dominic West won Leading Actor at the British Academy Television Awards, joking about how his sister would be devastated that Benedict Cumberbatch lost.

The actor teased: “Her eyes will be filled with tears of disappointment."

Dominic won the award in London on Sunday for his performance in Appropriate Adult.

West’s co-star Emily Watson was also presented with the Leading Actress BAFTA for her role as Janet.

It was the first BAFTA win for both West and Watson.
