Meryl Streep has won the award for best actress at this year's BAFTAs, for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
However, en route to pick up the gong from Colin Firth, the actress managed to lose one of her shoes.
Firth rushed to her aid, picking up the shoe and placing it back on her foot, prompting the show's host Stephen Fry to say: "Prince Charming tried the slipper on and it fitted Cinderella at once. What a happy ending."
After reaching the podium, the actress joked: "That couldn't have gone worse!"
