Hip-shaking Shakira is the 2545th celebrity to be given a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

The 34-year-old singer was greeted by hundreds of fans as she unveiled her star on Hollywood Boulevard.

Shakira said she remembered being on the walkway as a tourist when she was a child, when her mother told her: "Shaki, one day you'll have your own star here."

The Colombian-born singer shot to fame with hit pop songs including Hips Don't Lie and videos in which she belly danced..

Both Shakira's mother and father accompanied her to the ceremony.
