Competition to name cute panda cub in Taiwan

Report & Video by Jeremy Barnes

Thousands of people in Taiwan have been trying to name the first giant panda ever born on the island.

The female cub was delivered at Taipei Zoo on July 6 following artificial insemination sessions after her parents Yuan Yuan and Tuan Tuan failed to conceive naturally.

Video footage showed the 63-day-old baby waving her arms and legs while lying on a special crib made of bamboo leaves.
