Celine Dion performed at the Chinese New Year's Gala in Beijing as millions across the world welcomed in the Year of the Snake.
The Canadian singer made a guest appearance at the Gala on Saturday as part of a five-hour extravaganza that featured armies of dancers, comedy skits and more.
Dion performed the traditional Chinese folk song "Jasmine Flower" flawlessly along side national soprano, Song Zuying in Mandarin Chinese.
The international superstar said her biggest challenge was not the language barrier, but channelling the emotion and passion.
"I had wonderful people in the studio me helping me understand the meaning of the song. But even in between the lines, between what you're singing, you have to feel the music.
"You have to feel the passion. It's very difficult to pinpoint passion. It's very difficult to pinpoint emotion. This is something that is around us. And I think it lives through music," Dion told Chinese state television CCTV, where the performance was broadcast to millions.
No Celine Dion performance would be complete without a rendition of the chart topping "My Heart Will Go On," which made her a household name in China.
The start of the Lunar New Year's holiday was marked by firecrackers in the streets and fireworks in the sky to bring good fortune.
