If you are wondering where to get your Christmas tree from on the cheap this year then downtown Tokyo may not be the ideal place.

A revolving tree is now on display at Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewellery store and it costs a staggering $4.2 million.

It is called "Disney Gold Christmas Tree", and is decorated with 40 kilograms of pure gold.

It is also draped with ribbons of gold leaves and a golden chain, and for the tree topper it has the famous silhouette of Mickey Mouse's head.

While no one has yet decided to fork out for the larger model, the minature versions have been selling fast.
