The shocking moment a train, travelling along a suburban route in Vienna, ran off the tracks, has been caught on camera.

In the footage shot by one of the passengers, two girls are seen laughing and joking before everything suddenly goes quiet and they realise something is wrong.

One of the girls even jokes: "Say something. This is the last hour of your life!"

Seconds later a loud bang is heard and the camera turns to reveal the door of the carriage hanging open with the train continuing to travel at speed.

It turns out that a broken rail was to blame for the train coming off the track and despite reports of it travelling more than 1,000ft, no one was seriously injured.
