A man's failed attempt at jumping into a frozen swimming pool has been caught on camera in Germany.

The man, wearing nothing but his underpants and a smile, takes a running jump at the ice, but is unable to crack it. Instead he bounces off the surface in obvious pain.

In what appears to be a stunt to promote a band gone wrong, the man speaks directly to the camera before his misguided leap.

With the camera still rolling after he fails to penetrate the ice, the man is seen laughing at himself with his friends.
