Bodyform have responded to a post on their Facebook page complaining about their portrayal of women's periods by producing a spoof apology video called Bodyform Responds: The Truth.
Richard Neill wrote a tongue-in-cheek message to the feminine hygiene brand where he said: "As a man I must ask why you have lied to us for all these years".
Known for their adverts in which women can be seen enjoying a variety of fun activities during their 'time of the month', Richard wrote: "There was no joy, no extreme sports, no blue water spilling over wings and no rocking soundtrack oh no no no."
He added: "Instead I had to fight against every male urge I had to resist screaming wooaaahhhhh bodddyyyyyyfooorrrmmm bodyformed for youuuuuuu as my lady changed from the loving, gentle, normal skin coloured lady to the little girl from the exorcist with added venom and extra 360 degree head spin."
Bodyform enrolled an actress to play their fictional CEO, who apologised for leading men on and said that they had done it because their research showed men could not handle the truth.
"There's no such thing as a happy period," she confesses in the video.
So far, Richard Neill's post has received over 87,000 likes on Facebook.
