Thousands dance to Psy's Gangnam Style in Seoul

Report by Andrea Lilly

Thousands of South Koreans danced to national popstar Psy's, Gangnam Style, hit on a street in Seoul to promote a local street dance festival.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jai-sang, gained hundreds of online imitators with his unusual dance move, where he pretends to ride an invisible horse.

The event was organized by the local Dongdaemun authorities.

It was located in a neighbourhood in the northern part of the city, to promote the "International Dance Festival".

The festival organisers had hoped to attract 30,000 people to the event, but fell short of that number saying about 10,000 people turned up.

K-pop viral phenomenon Psy, who has racked up some 360 million YouTube views, became the first ever South Korean to top the UK charts.
