Car blown away by Typhoon Jelawat

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

A powerful reminder of the force of a typhoon has gone viral online, as an American in Japan filmed a car literally being blown away by a powerful storm.

The 4x4 was turned onto its roof, blown down a car park and flipped over repeatedly by Typhoon Jelawat as it struck the US Marine Base at Camp Kinser in Okinawa, Japan, on Saturday.

With winds of almost 80mph, the storm quickly passed over the island and continued on to Tokyo.

Overall, 145 people were injured and over 60,000 evacuated as a precaution in case of floods.
