American Kelly Slater has won his 50th competitive surfing competition.
The 40-year-old took the crown the Hurley Pro surf contest to claim his 50th Association of Surfing Professionals World Championship Tour victory.
Slater outdueled Australian Joel Parkinson in the two man final in three to five foot surf at the Lower Trestles beach in California.
For the American the Hurley Pro was an appropiate place to win his 50th as his first professional win came at this event in 1992.
