Amusement park fans get stuck up a ride in California

Report by Melissa Nathoo

Visitors to an amusement park in California were left stranded 300 feet in the air after a ride malfunctioned.

The safety security system on the Windseeker at Knott's Berry Farm activated unexpectedly, causing the ride to come to a halt.

The theme park goers were stuck in the air for over three hours, before they were eventually lowered back to the ground.

Jimmy Garrison was one of the riders who got stuck, but he was in good spirits in spite of the ordeal.

"The only bad thing is I wasn't facing the sunset, I had to keep turning around. I was thirsty and I got a bottle of water and I got a free t-shirt," Garrison said.

This is the second time in two weeks that the Windseeker ride has stopped working.
