Piccadilly Circus becomes... A circus

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

Piccadilly Circus in London has been transformed into a giant big top as part of a spectacular aerial performance.

'Les Studios de Cirque' soared over 30 metres above the crowd of thousands, in what appeared to be a huge aerial pillow fight.

The show featured dozens of performers, and almost a tonne and a half of feathers, as well as zipwires, trapeze artists, a giant inflatible cherub, and plenty of smiles.

The celebration was held as part of London's 2012 festival.
