David Beckham has given people in cities throughout the US more than they bargained for, appearing half-naked in six giant silver statues dotted throughout the country.
Clothing chain H&M created the figures to promote Beckham's line of underwear, and spokesman Jennifer Ward said he gave the idea the go ahead: "We always work with the designer and the celebrity very closely on all parts of the campaign and the collection.
"So David has been very involved and we just thought - you know, at H&M we love to surprise our customers and do something new and fun. So this was just a new fun little stunt to promote the collection."
Beckham fans crowded around one statue located in New York's Flatiron district, and were invited to take their photo with Becks to win prizes.
Statues are also on display in Los Angeles and San Francisco. After the campaign they will be placed in various H&M stores.
