Psychic raccoon makes Olympic predictions

Report by Jeremy Barnes

A raccoon from Russia, who became well-known for her Euro 2012 predictions, has turned her snout to forecasting results in the Olympics.

Jemma picked Spain to win the European championship, and is going for China to top the medals table at London 2012.

The raccoon waited on a plastic chair as four buns with flags representing different countries were placed on a table, before opting for the cake representing China and eating it.

"Our Jemma has decided that this time the winner of the overall medal count will be China," a worker at the Tula Zoo said.

"Jemma has picked Russia for the second place. We'll see if it turns out to be true. But actually, judging by the Euro 2012, we can say that the accuracy of her predictions is almost 100 percent," the woman added.

The animal, who was brought to the zoo in 2000, reportedly started her predictions in 2006.

She now even has her own Twitter account, so her predictions can be promptly tweeted to the world.
