Roller-suited man skates down Chinese mountain

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

French "roller-man" Jean-Yves Blondeau has wowed crowds in China by hitting over 80kph whilst racing down a mountain in the centre of the country.

Blondeau uses a specially designed suit covered in 32 skate wheels to glide on his legs, arms or stomach, steering by throwing his body weight around.

In a live broadcast, the stuntman managed the 10.8km route down the side of Tianmen Mountain in Hunan in some 20 minutes, an impressive feat considering the 99 hairpin turns on the route.

The route ended with a small jump over a metal ramp, before skating through a stream of fireworks.
