Injured tiger cub gets taken to hospital

Report by Sam Datta-Paulin

Even the biggest of big cats can hurt themselves, although three-month-old Tiger cub Zhuang Zhuang from a zoo in China's Hubei province is not quite fully grown yet.

The cub fractured his left back leg after jumping from a bench in the zoo. Unfortunately there were no facilities to treat the animal at local vetinary surgeries, so he was taken to a hospital instead.

X-rays confirmed that the cat had fractured his rear left leg, and he was given treatment under general anaesthetic.

Zhuang Zhuang is recovering well and is set to be back to his usual naughty self in around a month.
