Bras, boxers and briefs made their annual appearance at New York City's Underwear Run over the weekend (July 06).

Hundreds of athletes stripped down to their skivvies to race 1.7 miles through Manhattan's Central Park.

The event's grand marshal was none other than Naked Cowboy, who said the attire is always appropriate for the hot summer temperatures.

"Everyone tells me all day long, I'm the only one who seems normal on a day like this. And really, you know, you really see people sweat," said Naked Cowboy, who can usually be found strumming his guitar in the buff in Times Square.

The Underwear Run was an appetizer for triathletes who competed in the New York City Triathlon.
